Worship Ministry Group
Ministry Group Overview

Worship

Our worship services are neither formal nor fanatical; they are focused on the work and person of Jesus Christ.

In our services, some participants will stand with arms raise in surrender to God while others sit with hands folded. Some, but not all worshipers will clap along with the more energetic worship songs. We encourage each person present to worship as the Spirit leads them, asking only that all things are done decently and in good order as the scriptures teach.

We observe the Lord's Supper (Holy Communion) each week and take joy in remembering what our Lord did for us on the cross. This remembrance is open to all professing Christians regardless of denominational affiliation.

We also allow members an opportunity to present their tithes and offerings each week. All of the ministries and outreaches of SFCC are financed through the generosity of our members. Guests are not expected to participate in this part of our service, but may if they wish.

Worship Ministry Group Purpose

As part of the overall Volunteer Ministry System, the Worship Ministry Group consists of many smaller ministries and teams that make our worship services a pleasant and creative experience. With elements of music, drama, and dance; special requirements for audio, video, and lighting; behind the scenes necessities like preparing the communion elements and changing seasonal sanctuary decorations; and the providing the personal services of greeters and ushers; a successful Worship service is often much more complex than it appears on the surface. The Worship Ministry Group incorporates and coordinates all of these varied areas to provide you with an atmosphere conducive to worship.
