Special Congregational Meeting The SFCC Board of Elders and Deacons have called for a special congregational meeting on July 13, 2008 to consider hiring Pastor Darrell Boswell as our Senior Minister (see article to the right for more information). Office Help Needed We are also still seeking additional volunteers to help out in the church office. If you would be interested in covering some time in the church office please contact the elders. We need volunteers to write articles and take photos about the ministries and events at SFCC. Web pages quickly get stale and unused without frequent and consistent updates. After two years of prayer as well as consideration of more that a hundred applicant resumes, the board is confident that Pastor Darrell Boswell is the man God has prepared for SFCC. Pastor Darrell has been the guest pastor twice at SFCC and he and the Board also spent a Saturday getting to know each another and discussing tentative plans and direction for the church for the next 18 months. On July 13th, in a special congregational meeting, the congregation will vote on a proposal to hire Pastor Darrell as our Senior Minister. More About Our Prospective Sr. Pastor .After twenty years in corporate management Darrell Boswell felt God stirring something deep in his heart; it was the call of ministry. Since answering God’s call Rev. Boswell has served as a staff pastor for two mega churches in the Dallas, TX Metroplex; Hillcrest Church with Dr. Morris Sheats and Calvary Church in Irving , TX with Dr. J. Don George. Rev. Darrell W. Boswell graduated from Christ for the Nations with degrees in Theology and Pastoral Ministry. He also holds a B.A. in Christian Ministry, a B.S. in Communications and an M. Ed. in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. In 2005, Rev. Boswell co-authored the book Building Better Churches; Building Blocks That Matter with Dr. Morris Sheats. Pastor Boswell is married to Carol and has two grown children Amy and Andy and two granddaughters |
