Board of Deacons Representatives The deacons appointed to these two positions provide input from the Board of Deacons concerning the general financial needs of the various volunteer ministries for which it is responsible. They are also required to participate in the financial discussions and decisions of the ministry. Church Treasurer The Church Treasurer is responsible for maintaining an accurate check register and list of authorized obligations, and making timely payments of those obligations as funds allow. The treasurer is also required to keep the other members of the ministry informed of known upcoming obligations and for participating financial discussions and decisions of the ministry. Church Bookkeeper The Church Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining the financial records for the congregation. This includes approved budgets, contributions, disbursements, assets and liabilities, etc. The bookkeeper is also responsible for producing reports on those same items as required by the Board of Elders (trustees) and as required by federal, state, and local law. The bookkeeper also participates in all financial discussions and decisions of the ministry. |
