What We Hold to Be True
As an independent, non-denominational church, Santa Fe Christian believes the following:
- The Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. (1 Timothy 3:16-17)
- There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1-2, John 1:1-3, 1 Cor. 12:4-6, 2 Cor. 13:14)
- All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and, man by nature is a sinner. ( Psalms 51:5, Romans 3:9-24, Romans 5, 6, & 7)
- We believe in the deity of Jesus, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, and that through His death on the cross and the shedding of His blood we have our redemption. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in power, glory and judgment. (Matthew 1:18; Mathew 24, 25; Phillipians 2:10; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; John 14:3)
- Salvation is a free gift bestowed by God's grace and received by faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9) A professed believer's immersion in water is the biblical baptism, (Acts 8:36-39) and such baptism is symbolic of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. (Romans 6:1-4) A believer's salvation is secured by Christ alone. (John 14:6)
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit Who indwells believers at conversion and enables them to live godly lives. Christians are endowed with spiritual gifts which enable them to minister as a part of the church (Romans 12:3-8)
- Christ is the Head and ultimate authority of the Church. (Colossians 1:1-18) the purpose of the Church on earth is to fulfill the last command of Jesus. (Matthew 28:18-20) The Church is to be guided by godly men known as elders. (Acts 20:16-17, 28; Titus 1:5-9)
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the saved unto the resurrection of life, and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:29)
- We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 17:20-23; Romans 15:5-6; Ephesians 4:1-6)
